Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as your login status and preferences — making it easier to use the site again and making the site more useful to you.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage to store data on your device for the same purposes.

2. How We Use Cookies

VORTEX FX uses cookies primarily to keep you authenticated and to remember your preferences. We keep cookie use to a minimum and do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Required

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. They maintain your login session, store authentication tokens, and keep you signed in across page loads. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using the Platform.

Preference Cookies

Optional

These cookies remember your settings and preferences such as your chosen theme (dark/light mode) and UI state. They improve your experience by restoring your preferences on return visits.

Analytics Cookies

Optional

We may use anonymised analytics data to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it. Any analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. Currently, we do not use third-party analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics) — usage data is derived from our own infrastructure logs.

Payment Cookies

Optional

When you initiate a payment, Stripe or Flutterwave may set cookies necessary to process the transaction securely. These are third-party cookies governed by those providers' respective privacy policies.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some features of the Platform involve third-party services that may set their own cookies:

  • Supabase — Authentication cookies for secure login sessions
  • Stripe — Payment cookies for secure checkout processing
  • Flutterwave — Payment cookies for African payment processing

These third-party cookies are governed by each provider's respective privacy and cookie policies. We do not control these cookies.

5. How to Manage Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete existing cookies
  • Block some or all cookies
  • Set preferences for specific websites

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging into or using the Platform. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions on managing cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your browsing activity tracked. Currently, we respond to DNT signals by limiting our data collection to what is strictly necessary for Platform functionality.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
